Tiffany Rodriguez (FHS Class of 2025) has officially traded Panther halls for Matador pride at Cal State Northridge – and yes, she’s dorming, which turned out to be the biggest “moving day” of her life so far. “Moving away from home was challenging for me because I am molded to be family oriented,” she told us. Being the first in her big family to head off to university is a task she has taken with equal parts nerves and excitement. While she is balancing math, queer studies, history, geography, labs, and more, the class she is most fired up about is art; after all, three and a half hours of art lecture plus lab is a pretty great way to keep that lifelong arts-and-crafts passion going. Tiffany is majoring in Liberal Studies with a long-term goal of becoming a teacher. She put her Foundation award money toward dorm-life essentials and those famously pricey textbooks. Tiffany summed up her mindset with a quote we love: “I am the one thing in life I can control, I am inimitable, I am an original.” We have loved hearing Tiffany’s story, and we cheer her on as she creates, studies, and grows into the extraordinary educator she is aiming to be.
